The Subject of Invisalign
As adults most of us wish that we had straighter teeth. In today’s world orthodontics has advanced to
the point where now we can! Blackman and
Bliss DDS has an orthodontist onsight at the practice for just such
procedures. Invisalign is probably the
answer if you are an adult wishing to have a more attractive smile. With invisalign there are clear custom made
aligners that are used to gradually correct your smile.
Now a word about aligners.
These are not your childhood braces.
These can be easily removed for eating, brushing, or any special
occasion where they would not be appropriate.
The days of metal brackets and wires are gone forever. About every two weeks you will replace the
aligners and before you know it the job will be done.
You can always count on Blackman and Bliss serving the
western suburbs of Chicagoland for all of your dental needs. If you live in the Bloomingdale, Carol
Stream, and Wheaton areas contact Blackman and Bliss DDS at (630) 260-0333 or
visit them at their office at 400 North Gary Avenue.

The Gum Disease Gingivitis
Gingivitis is one of those strange terms that most people
have heard of, but not everyone knows exactly what it means to your dental
health. It is very serious, but because
it is generally painless people ignore it unlike a toothache. As a matter of fact, it often gets neglected
until it is too late. Researchers have
shown a direct link of gum disease to diabetes and heart disease. Now do we have your attention?
What should you look for?
If your gums bleed even in the slightest when you brush or floss get to
a dentist immediately. If you notice a
redness or swelling in your gums do not hesitate. Gingivitis can be reversed through frequent
brushing, daily flossing, and regular cleanings by a professional. The alternative to ignoring gingivitis is
eventual loss of your teeth and oral surgery.
You and your family deserve the best oral health care in
Chicagoland. If you live in the Carol
Stream area you cannot do better than the full service dental practice of
Blackman and Bliss DDS. They are located
at 400 North Gary Avenue. Call them
today at (630) 260-0333. Gum disease…who
needs it?!

Your Child’s Dental Care.
Summertime is a great time to manage your child’s dental
health care. The older kids are home for
the summer and the younger ones are playing outdoors and perhaps eating things
that are not the best for them. Here are
a few tips to prevent tooth decay from your friends at Blackman and Bliss DDS
in Carol Stream Il.
1.) Avoid giving
young children sugary drinks or sweetened snacks as much as possible.
2.) If one of
your children is being bottle fed do not let them fall asleep with the bottle
in their mouth.
3.) Do not share
cups that you have used with your children to avoid the spread of bacteria.
4.) Help small
children when it is tooth brushing time and show them the proper techniques.
5.) And finally,
make sure that the older children in the household floss after brushing.
This summer can be a great experience if frequent visits to
the dentist do not become a necessity.
Teach your children that a few minutes of preventative maintenance is
worth the hours of treatment to fix the problem. Blackman and Bliss DDS serving Carol Stream
and west Chicagoland is there when you need them. Call them at (630) 260-0333 to schedule a
check-up for all of your children early this summer and enjoy the season!

School’s Out for Summer!
Very soon kids will have an opportunity to enjoy what will
hopefully be a great summer vacation after a brutal Chicagoland winter. When that happens adults tend to put off the
necessities of life until September.
Think about your children’s dental health care at this time of
year. Why would you put off exams,
fillings, braces and other important aspects of your child’s dental health care
until it is time to go back to school?
Now is the time to attend to the dental care of the youth in
your household. They won’t be missing
any school if several visits to the dentist are needed to correct
problems. Just tell them that they will
be more attractive to their classmates when they see them again in
September. That will get their attention!
Call now to set up any dental procedure that you have been
putting off during the school year. If
you live in the Carol Stream area there is no better full service dentist and
orthodontist than Blackman and Bliss DDS located at 400 North Gary Avenue. Here is the phone number to set up your
child’s (or your) first appointment of the summer (630) 260-0333. Don’t put off what will be more difficult
when you are all busier in the fall. Let
your kids dazzle their friends with their new smile come September.
